Al Janoub Stadium

Al Janoub Stadium is shaped like the sails of traditional pearl diver Dhow boats, with the seating stands on the inside designed like the waves of the sea.
An award-winning stadium with a record-breaking pitch, this stadium was certainly a talking point during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ as a standout landmark. Established in one of Qatar’s oldest neighbourhoods, Al Janoub Stadium constructions began in January 2016, making it the first of the stadiums built from scratch to be ready for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. The stadium costed $576 million and was inaugurated during the Amir Cup final in May 2019. Al Janoub Stadium was awarded a Class A* sustainability rating by the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS). Its proprietary cooling technology efficiently uses energy to cool the stadium, making it usable throughout the year. Visit for more detailed information.
