Bangladeshi Nabil Erfan called up to Qatar national team

Bangladeshi footballer Nabil Irfan has been called up to the Qatar national team camp. Qatar's Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui has included Nabil in the team for the World Cup qualifiers against Iran and Uzbekistan. Nabil was previously in the Qatar U-23 team. The Bangladeshi currently plays for Qatar's Stars League club Al-Wakrah SC.

The 21-year-old footballer has been playing for Al-Wakrah SC since 2021. Nabil's positioning is similar to Hamza Chowdhury. The young Bangladeshi is more often seen as a defensive midfielder. However, he can also play as a right back if needed.

Both of Nabil's parents are from Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. They live in Qatar for work. Nabil was born in Al Wakrah, Qatar in 2004. The young defensive midfielder began his football journey at Aspire Academy there. From Aspire Academy, Nabil made it to the Al Wakrah club's youth team. Nabil got the opportunity to play in the club's main team at the age of 17 in the 2021-22 season.
