Programme Overview

The FIFA Executive Programme in Commercial Legal is a high-level academic and professional initiative tailored for experienced sports lawyers seeking to specialize in commercial law within the football industry. It is the first programme in football law dedicated exclusively to commercial legal matters, making it a unique and timely opportunity in the legal education landscape.

Despite the central role that commercial law plays in the global football economy - from sponsorship and media rights to digital innovation and intellectual property - International Education Programs have not yet addressed these areas in a comprehensive, practical, and industry‑specific way.

Importantly, commercial law now represents the vast majority of legal positions in football and across organised sports, making it one of the most in-demand and strategically valuable areas of legal expertise.

Who can apply:

Experienced sports lawyers, willing to develop specialised expertise in commercial law within the football industry.

Legal professionals from FIFA member associations, clubs, leagues, law firms or football stakeholders seeking to acquire knowledge in sponsorship, media rights, marketing regulation, intellectual property, and digital innovation.

Requirements:

Experience as a sports lawyers, ready to elevate career by developing specialised expertise in commercial law within the football industry.

Being a legal professionals from a FIFA member association, club, league, law firm or football stakeholder, who is actively involved in the legal side of sport.

Legal expertise and ambition to expand role into high-demand areas such as sponsorship, media rights, marketing regulation, intellectual property and digital innovation

Proficiency in English. 

Ability to travel to all modules.
