Philippine Ambassador Joins SSS Execs in Town Hall Meeting with Filipino Community in Doha

Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, joined executives from the Social Security System (SSS), led by President and CEO Robert Joseph M. De Claro, for a town hall meeting with members of the Filipino community on 20 June 2025. The event was held at the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) of the Philippine Embassy in Doha.

In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Melicor urged Filipino workers in Qatar to take advantage of the SSS voluntary membership program. He emphasized that this initiative opens access to a wide range of benefits and services provided by the agency.

“Voluntary membership offers a vital lifeline for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) by providing a critical safety net that supports successful reintegration upon their return to the Philippines,” the Ambassador noted.

The town hall aimed to inform and engage the Filipino community regarding the various SSS programs and services available to OFWs, reinforcing the importance of social protection and long-term financial security.

Filipinos in Qatar interested in learning more about SSS services can visit the SSS Satellite Office at the MWO or contact the office via phone at (+974) 5591-5961 or email at doha@sss.gov.ph.
