Sylhet Sporting Club Qatar Clinches Victory in First Quarter-Final of BD Warriors T10 Cricket Tournament 2025

The first quarter-final match of the BD Warriors T10 Cricket Tournament 2025 (Season 7) saw an intense showdown between Sylhet Sporting Club Qatar and Gopalganj Challengers Boys. In an exciting encounter, Sylhet Sporting Club Qatar emerged victorious by 5 wickets.

After winning the toss, Sylhet captain Rashed opted to field first. Although the bowling attack had a slow start, Rashed himself provided the initial breakthrough in the sixth over. Following that, Sylhet’s bowlers showed excellent control, restricting the flow of runs and putting pressure on the batting side. Gopalganj Challengers managed to post a competitive total of 117 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 10 overs.

Chasing a target of 118 runs, Sylhet faced an early setback as both openers, Imon and Jalal, were dismissed cheaply. However, skipper Rashed steadied the innings and attempted to keep the scoreboard ticking. After Jalal's dismissal, Aziz joined the crease and tried to build a partnership. But once Rashed was dismissed, the team found themselves under pressure again.

Veteran middle-order batter Rakib and Aziz tried to anchor the innings. Following Aziz’s departure, Suman came in but couldn’t hold his ground for long. Eventually, it was Rakib and Sajib who stitched together a match-winning 40-run partnership. Sajib remained unbeaten on a brilliant 20-run knock, guiding the team to victory.

Sylhet Sporting Club Qatar reached the target in just 8.1 overs, losing 5 wickets. 

For his outstanding performance, Rakib was named Man of the Match, scoring an unbeaten 30 runs off just 11 balls — a crucial contribution that led his team to triumph.
