Qatar to Host 2nd World Summit for Social Development: Volunteer Registration Now Open

Nahid Islam, Doha, For the first time, Qatar will host the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2), organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in coordination with the Permanent Committee for Organizing Conferences. The summit will take place in Doha from 4–6 November 2025, bringing together global leaders, experts, and communities to discuss sustainable social development.

As part of the preparations, the organizers are calling for volunteers to join the summit. Open to Qatari nationals and residents aged 18 and above, with proficiency in English, this initiative offers an opportunity to contribute to an international UN event and gain valuable UN-certified experience.


Volunteers will be assigned to different teams based on their skills, covering roles such as:


• Accompanying VIPs.

• Accommodation support.

• Registration and accreditation.

• Airport services.

• Transportation assistance.

• Organizing and welcoming guests.

• Media and communication.

• Organizing meeting rooms.


Interested individuals are encouraged to apply through the UN Volunteers platform at https://app.unv.org. The deadline for registration is 15 September 2025.


This volunteering program not only provides participants with the chance to be part of a major international summit but also allows them to network with diverse nationalities and play a role in shaping a sustainable future.
