Ramadan has once again arrived in Qatar, and the country's banks, government offices, hospitals, malls, and other facilities are adjusting their hours to observe the Holy Month.

Qatar Museums moves Doha Design Biennale 2026 opening to November

After careful consideration, in light of the evolving situation in the region, Qatar Museums and Design Doha have made the decision to postpone the opening of the Design Doha Biennial 2026 to Nov. 5-7, 2026, with exhibitions remaining on view until Dec. 31, 2026. Qatar Museums remains committed to the extraordinary designers, artisans, makers, and artists who are a part of Design Doha. This postponement will ensure that the Biennial can be experienced in the spirit in which it was conceived: as a global celebration of the remarkable talent of the MENASA region. The organizers of the biennial stressed that the overarching goal of Design Doha - to connect people through dialogue and creativity - is more important than ever. Qatar sets wildlife conservation benchmark with National Biodiversity Database

As international efforts to safeguard biodiversity accelerate, Qatar has positioned itself as a leading model in wildlife conservation through the development of its National Biodiversity Database, a significant institutional and scientific achievement. This database, created through years of systematic work, documents over 2,567 species found across the country, reflecting both the ecological diversity of Qatar and the scientific rigour of national monitoring efforts. According to the ministry's data, the recorded species include 1,027 terrestrial plants, 390 birds, 36 mammals, 42 reptiles, 59 fish, and 524 invertebrates. Qatar Charity performs free heart surgeries for children in Bangladesh

Despite the challenges and exceptional circumstances facing the region, Qatar Charity (QC) organised a free medical and surgical camp in Bangladesh to treat children suffering from congenital heart defects. The camp, held at Bangladesh Eye Hospital in the Capital, successfully provided life-saving treatment to 30 children from underprivileged families who were unable to afford the high costs of cardiac procedures. A dedicated team of pediatric cardiologists, led by Professor Dr Nurun Nahar Fatema, carried out all procedures with great care and professionalism. The medical team conducted comprehensive examinations before performing surgeries and interventional procedures tailored to each child’s condition. This camp is part of Qatar Charity’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable groups in Bangladesh.
